Madison County, TN-- A local firefighter has died from injuries he sustained when a tree fell on him. Madison County Fire Department had responded to a vehicle fire on Highway 18 on Sunday.
At some point during the call a tree broke and fell on firefighter Chris Blankenship. Blankenship was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Blankenship had been a member of the Madison County Fire Department for 10 years.
